Watercolour Landscape

I began painting in watercolour at a young age, and after nearly three decades with the medium, it remains one of my most intuitive ways of observing the world. Through plein air painting and close observation, I am drawn to capturing the particular quality of light, colour and atmosphere of a place. For me, representation is not simply about reproducing what I see, but understanding what makes a moment visually distinctive.

My visual language is also shaped by my training in animation and a lifelong fascination with digital cinema, concept art and illustration. While most of my landscapes remain representational, this influence sometimes emerges through a more whimsical or illustrative treatment. My watercolours are therefore a meeting point between careful observation and imagination, tradition and the visual culture that shaped me.
